CRC Board members, consumer advocate organizations, and supporters attended the annual Celebrate California Reinvestment! fundraising event on April 30th at the historic Rotunda Building in downtown Oakland. Old and new friends re-visited the past year’s community achievements, enjoyed delicious food and signature cocktails, and listened to cool sounds by local jazz musicians the Roger Kim Trio.
Awards were presented to “Consumer Advocate of the Year” Ted Mermin of the Public Good Law Center (Berkeley), and “Community Advocates of the Year” the Buena Vista Mobile Home Park Residents Association (Palo Alto). A posthumous “Housing Rights Advocate of the Year” award was presented for Ted Gullickson (1953-2014) of the San Francisco Tenants Union.
CRC Board and staff wish to thank everyone who came out to be a part of this special evening. With your support, CRC will continue its efforts in 2015 to strengthen California communities by improving access to financial services for low-income communities and communities of color.
